Building for the Cure

The 2004 Greater Barrie Home Builders' Association president, James Bazely of Gregor Homes, led the GBHBA to a year of great successes. The GBHBA's unbelievable achievement of building a house in 57 hours for Building the Cure charity, won the GBHBA the Ontario Home Builders' Local Association of the Year award. The home was built in support of the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation's efforts to develop a much-needed Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.

The Building for the Cure house was sold to a couple that had the cause very close to their hearts being cancer survivors themselves. GBHBA President, James Bazely proudly handed over a $200,000 cheque to the Royal Victoria Hospital at the Association's October 2004 dinner.
